Welcome 5th grade geologists!
Get your hard hats and tools ready because you are going on an exploration! It is your job as geologists to research about one of the 3 main types of rocks!
Rocks are classified based on the way they have formed.
You will each be assigned to one of the 3 main types of rocks
Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary.
Below you will find the directions to guide your exploration. After you have gathered your information, you will post your findings on this blog.
In your post, you are to include the following:
- Define the term geologist.
- A brief description (3-5 sentences) of how this type of rock is created.
- The location of where this type of rock can be found.
- At least 2 pictures of this rock type.
- At least 3 examples of this kind of rock.
- Name an everyday item that people use, which comes from this type of rock.
- Ask one question you still have about your rock type.
- Provide the links you used to find your information.
